I just love the feeling that having Nutella all over my mouth when I enjoy this wonderful breakfast. Nutella is one of those spreads that is good enough to eat right out of the jar, but wait until you try it stuffed in the French toast plus bananas pieces. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar, and/or drizzled with maple syrup, with a bowl of fresh fruit. OK let’s get started of how to make this savoury breakfast.
Ingredients you need to prepare:
4 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
6 slices bread
3 tablespoons Nutella
2 medium bananas, sliced 1⁄8-inch thick
Powdered sugar, for serving
Pure maple syrup, for serving
Steps to make Nutella-Banana-Stuffed French Toast
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Add the eggs, milk, brown sugar, and vanilla to a large bowl and whisk to combine. In batches, dip the bread in the egg mixture and add to the skillet. Cook until browned, 2 to 3 minutes, then cook on the other side for 2 to 3 minutes more. Transfer to a serving plate. Spread 1 tablespoon Nutella each on 3 toasts, then top with the banana slices. Top with the remaining 3 toasts, cut in half on a diagonal, and serve warm with the powdered sugar and maple syrup.
